Installation History
Notable Characteristics
- Appearance
- Upon summoning, HASA will select an appearance similar to the individual whom it helps. For example, should a Vulcan female summon HASA, the computer will render a Vulcan female. The user can customize the avatar's appearance, and those preferences can be saved for the next time HASA is summoned by that individual.
- Personality
- HASA was not programmed with an individual personality, but is capable of mimicking general traits common to individual species. Humans will appear polite and friendly, Vulcans stiff and monotonous, Tellarites gruff, and so on.
Notable Mechanics
- Security
- HASA will only be able to access information granted by the user, assuming that user has the appropriate data and security access, just like the computer normally handles.
- Maximum Avatars
- At present, HASA is capable of rendering twelve separate avatars. If all twelve are in use, the computer will interact with personnel strictly through the communications system. If the presence of an avatar is necessary, the computer will warn an existing user, depending upon priority of tasks, that their avatar usage will be discontinued until resources are again available. Command officers have the ability to override the avatar system and restrict its access to certain personnel, especially in a crisis.
- Resources
- Frequent and prolonged use of the avatar(s) can lead to a drain on the ship's power supplies and active memory. As critical ship functions are independent from these processors, there won't be noticeable effects in command locations such as the Bridge and Engineering. The ship's Library, Recreational areas, and laboratories may see sluggishness in computer responsiveness and delays in information processing.
HASA in Play
At present, use of HASA is free to all Player Characters aboard the Black Hawk. NPCs and PNPCs are not able to use the avatar as of yet.
